Hi
I want to buy new hair straightners and to be honest i would love GHD ones but they seem so expensive compared to a lot of other makes. My question is ....Are there really a difference between makes. I look at Tresemme straightners and even they sell a wide range. Obviously i want straightners that won't harm the hair but am i paying through the nose for just a name???? Any help would be appreicated... Hopefully i won't get sellers answering this question because i want an honest opinion.
Many Thanks Ann xxCalling all ';Hair Straightners'; Buffs?
I use the CHI straightener and all it's products. It's by far the best straightener I've ever owned and it's not just a name. And as far as the price, I know it's on the expensive side, but if it breaks it's also guaranteed for life--so a one time charge of $150 instead of buying way cheaper ones just to replace it next year which means you'll probably end up spending way more in the long run anyway for less than a decent product. And honestly you can get them fairly cheap online, but I dont think that comes with the lifetime guarantee! Good luck in your choosings!Calling all ';Hair Straightners'; Buffs?
You're really better off with a better(pricey) one than a cheap one. There's a HUGE difference in performance. and they last longer too. My daughter and I bought the cheaper ones at 1st...now she has a CHI and I just bought a $90 one(can't think of the name...got it in Linens and things though) and the difference is AMAZING.
Use good straighting products too...salon select is great
chi makes the best flat iron. the biggest difference is the amount of tourmaline used in the iron, that's what protects your hair also use chi iron guard on the hair before you straighten to protect the hair even more. this is all i use and it's the best iron i've found. the're not cheap but the best never is.good luck
Make sure that it gets very hot, and that it has ceramic plates, that is what all good straightners have. I have the Helen Of Troy Gold series, its the brand they use in a lot of salons I paid about $90 for it but I've had it for 4 years now. I would go to your local beauty supply store to get one. Try Sally's. I have very curly hair and my straighens it with out a problem. If your worried about the damage to your hair, Beauty supplly stores also sell this spray that you put on your hair right before you straighten it. Try somthing with IONS in it, that works the best.
