an iron
You could look for a battery powered straightener.

I am not sure where they sell them but they're small and work just as well.
you need a hairdryer(with ions) and a good brush (NO COMBS! they make your hair snap off and frizzy) for this.

after your shower and ish, you get the hairdry and make it angled so that its above your head and not blowing the hair away. and then brush down. you can first make most of the hair dry by just blow drying it everywhere (like how i do it but if your hair is flickety, i suggest you dont) and then doing the angled hairdryer and brushing down.

this usually works for me and so i wont damage my hair or anything.

if its in the morning, you can put in ganier fructis sleek and shine frizz serem. it works really nice and keeps the frizz away for the entire day (and smells nice)
Use a hair relaxant.
buy sunsilk shampoo with elasticyn-e. it is for unwanted kinks and waves. also, buy the sunsilk straighten up conditioner if the kinks are rly bad. Basically, get all the sunsilk products in lavender bottles. (they are color coded for their purposes- orange for dandruff, pink for shining, lavender for straightening, etc.)

look in CVS, and other stores with shampoos. Also, try indian stores bcuz they always have sunsilk..
can u see if yoyu can get some gas hair straightners are you in the uk as they sell them in a lot of places ie boots argos currys .
use sunsilk
japanese perm. i've heard they're rather expensive, and you'd have to find a spa where they give them. but basically its the opposite of a normal perm. instead of curling, it straightens and should last for about 2-3 months.
go to your hair dressers and ask if they can chemically straighten it for you.

this shouldn't cost you too much as it's only on your fringe and should last you about 3 months, which saves continuously damaging your hair by straightening it.

however, get it done a few days in advance. a friend of mine had it done and you cannot get it wet for about 2-3 days if I remember rightly as it might not work.

hope this helps.
