Hair straightners to the USA?

hi,

Im off to miami in a few weeks and cannot bare the thought of not straighting my hair and have looked online to see if i could bring them, but people are saying there's different voltage in the USA much lower than the Uk.

Cannot i not just buy a adaptor and plug in my Straighteners?? or do i need to buy a converter as well!?!? so confusing and seems alot of hassle!!!

what would happen if i didn't buy the converter and just the travel plug, would it damage my hair Straighteners?

I have bought travel straightners but they forever to heat up and are crap don't do the job atall, really need some advice!!!Hair straightners to the USA?
I'm going to say, go all out and buy a GHD straightener. They have universal voltage and you can use them ANYWHERE. They're really good, too, and I'm sure you'll love it here in America. Have fun! :]Hair straightners to the USA?
I go to the USA quite a lot and bought mine over there, the voltage over there is 110, ours is 240, straighteners over there are really cheap about $20/30, yours will come on over there but they don't get hot enough, buy a pair out there because once you have been to the USA you will def go again, hope this helped and HAVE A GREAT TIME, God bless.
Buy some dual voltage straighteners 240/110v if you try and use your 240v ones over there they will hardly heat up at all and you may damage them
