I hope you are talking abt flat irons. If you are YES! They save my life!! I have very long and curly hair so I bought a huge Jilbere flat iron from Sally. I also have a Chi in small. They are a GREAT investment! I think I spent like $65 on the big one and $35 on the small ones. But if you think about it, how much money you spend to straighten your hair at the hair salon.... exactly! They can damage your hair so be careful. You must condition is often, there's many products in Sallys and they arent that expensive. Do NOT straighten your hair daily... I will kill it! And never straighten it while wet. You can either air dry it (like I do) or blow dry it.
I seriously love them! So invest in a good one!

it all depends on how you look at it. If your hair is curly or wavy and you love to straighten it the for sure, go for it. Almost everyone at my school loves to straighten there hair so if you ask any of them then they would say it is a great investment. I use mine only when absolutly necessary, because it does damage your hair if you use it too much. You can get products to protect your hair though too. Despite the damage though, i am very glad i have my straightener.
PS when you buy your straightener make sure it has ceramic plates because it heats up faster and does a much better job. =]
Hey,
While I haven't tried any straighteners (I don't need them; m'hair is naturally blonde and straight) but I remember seeing a Debbie ';somebody'; (a Black dancer) doing a TV commercial for a hair product for straightening. The product was called
';COPA.'; Supposedly after a couple applications Black hair becomes soft, supple and straight. The product also was advertised as being so pure that it was even ';edible'; and they showed that part on TV too. I don't know who the manufacturer is, but you might try Googling ';COPA'; and see what turns up. It certainly sounded better than using those heat irons to straighten with.
Good luck with your search and hope you'll pass this information along to others asking similar question.
I think its a great investment. I use mine everyday, and i have moderately wavy hair that is very thick. I even use it if I am going to just pull it back in a pony tail.
I honestly don't know what brand I have but it is a ceramic one. I bought it at Walmart and it cost me 20 dollars.
The one I had previously was Vidal Sasson and lasted me 3 and a half years ( I would still have it if I wouldn't have thrown it at someone and broke it myself). That one cost me 25 dollars at a beauty supply store.
yes chi
yes they are. i love mine. but make sure it isnt too cheap. AND MAKE SURE IT IS CERAMIC CERAMIC CERAMIC ! dont bother getting anything else than CERAMIC
Go to walmart with 30 bucks.
Purchase the wet to dry hairstraightner.
It is amazing and it works well on my hair.
I have a Sedu and it's ok. Blow drying is still my best option though.
It depends. Do you have straight, wavy, or curly hair? If you have curly hair, you probably wont use it often because it's a hastle strightening curly hair every morning. If you have wavy hair, it's not hard to strighten your hair. Some girls do it every morning before school. If you have straight hair...don't get a straightener, you don't need one!
I don't use my straightener religiously, but I do use it once or twice a week. I like having options, I have wavy hair more on the curly side, so I can basically do whatever with my hair. You may as well get a good one if you buy one at all. You can keep it for a long time, and if you do straighten often it will be worth it!
