Whats the history of hair straightners?

trying to find out the history on hair straightners project for collegeWhats the history of hair straightners?
the history of hair straightener is they where first used in the egyptian times the used to heat a large piece of iron in a fire and then put it on there hair as the years have gone on they have become different some people used to iron there hair and now we have loads of different types what i will say about them is they do so much damage to your hair and dont use them if you can avoid itWhats the history of hair straightners?
Ancient Egyptians with ';iron';? Copper, OK! Bronze, possibly! But iron? I think not.

Not sure how far back in history the practice goes but my father had a hair straightening iron in his antique collection that you placed in the chimney of a kerosene lamp to heat it up for use. Amazingly, looked very much like the electric ones on the market today!
dont know exactly but make sure you also mention that they are very damaging and should only be used maybe once a week.
Not sure how long but the Egyptians went in for hair straightening.





I can remember in the 60's they used to iron their hair between two sheets of brown paper.
