The wide plated GHD's are amazing. My friend has very thick, curly hair and she uses them and her hair goes super straight and stays that way all day.

You can also buy them in a set where the products are included, the products are amazing and it works out cheaper than buying them seperately :)What are the best hair straightners for thick course hair, i want to get my hair realy straight?
SEDU!!!!!!!!!

i have a sedu and it the most AMAZING thing ever!! trust me, it costs a lot but it is soooo worth it. Use it once and you'll see the difference it makes! After using the Sedu, I feel that my hair has actually gotten softer and shinier, not damaged like some straighteners do. But you definitely need to use a heat protectant with it, I recommend Biolage.

My hair sounds exactly like yours and it only takes 25-30 minutes to get my hair perfectly straight, unlike the hour it took with my Conair. When you sleep on your hair the bottom will get a tiny bit wavy, but it only takes about 5 minutes to touch it up. And even without touchups it still looks great.

Trust me, you won't be disappointed with the SEDU! I got amazing straight hair with it and I'm sure you will too!
You should use Tool Science's Nano Silver Flat Iron. It's made for all hair types. Sally Beauty has a page comparing flat irons and prices. They also have product reviews on their product pages.

GHD's all the way

My hair is not that thick, but I have tried a few different types and these are the best. My hair looks straighter and stays straighter for longer, they might be expensive but they are well worth it.

GHD's can be purchased from any decent hair salon
Try the wide plate GHDs...they are designed for afro hair and I use them on my thick curly hair and have found them to be the best.
