About hair straightners and oil?

When I straighten my hair, I dab a little oil in it (just a drop of almond/mustard oil) before I straighten. I always get amazing results, like shiny, sleek and soft, and I don't even need to add anything afterword. But I was wondering if I am damaging or 'frying' my hair.About hair straightners and oil?
Use products that are meant to be used with straighteners...not something you grab from the kitchen. Use those when you are about to shower so it conditions your hair, not with a straightener.About hair straightners and oil?
Any hot tools will damage your hair, but using some sort of protection will always minimize the damage you are doing to your hair. Its great that you are using almond oil, I have read a lot of reviews on that. People also recommend olive oil and coconut oil. Don't listen to the others who are saying that ';kitchen stuff'; isn't good for you. They're just bimbos who think its necessary to spend $20 on a bottle of chemical crap.
