Relaxers completely damage your natural hair because they are permanent, and if you want to go back to your natural hair then you'll eventually have to cut off the relaxed hair. Straighting without using a good heat protectant or using too much heat can also damage your hair, but probably not as much as a relaxer which can actually damage your scalp and make your hair completely fall out. Relaxers who flat iron are doing this get their hair pin straight minus the frizz. african american hair- chemical relaxers
caucasian hair- straightening iron
even if a white girl uses a chemical relaxed, it is not going to look like naturally straight hair. it CAN be damaging- depending on the skill level of the technician.
i use a straightening blow dryer thing. ceramic iron, chi heat protector spray, and biosilk something at the end. almost looks like naturally st. hair and doesn't seem too damaged
