dont go by trends or celebrities (unless of course u look exactly like one of them)... wat suits them mite not suit u... i would suggest you upload a photo of urself online and try out different styles with free virtual softwares available on some websites...
Magazines! Look through as many magazines as you can -- you don't even have to buy them -- go to your local bookstore and search through the hair mags, when you find a style you like just buy that particular one!

Look at the celebrity styling magazines, or the Brittish hair magazines. Get a good picture and take it to a good stylist.
