well i have a conair straightener and i've had it for a long time with no problems. the expensive ones are not necessarily the best because mine blew out and i just went back to my little conair and its been my best friend since. but yes, ceramic is good and dont get one of those stupid wet to straight ones. you should never straighten your hair if its wet or even damp. but it sounds like you're getting a good deal and if you dont like it, just keep your reset and you can exchange it for something else within 30 or so days.
I would buy a Remmington... the newest one or even the non so new ones works really good....
