My daughter has a GHD pro hair styler and it has an intermittent fault with the power cable, maybe due to twisting, or faulty connection in the hinge, which is apparently quite common with these models.
I would like to dismantle it to see if the cable can be replaced or if an internal contact is the problem.
It looks like the hinge pin with a large GHD logo will come apart but i do not want to force anything until I am sure.

I cannot stress enough how dangerous these are to dismantle.
The area should be cordoned off and you should call your local GHD bomb disposal squad, while waiting for them to come for heavens sake dont pull the pin out.
These are particularly nasty anti personel hair devices the huns dropped in the last big one, designed by herr going. How do I dismantle a GHD hair professional hair styler?

If its a common fault send it back to the manufacturers.
If its an electrical fault and you are not a qualified electrician take it to someone who is.
Life is precious don't take the risk of injuring your daughter.
for safety reasons replace it
You should send it back to the manufacturer
