ok so i bought a flat iron while i was the US and now i would like ot use them in the UK
but i heard that the voltage is differnt and that id have to have a special plug or something in order to use my hair straightners
does anyone know where i can get one?

You need a converter transformer or solid state converter for resistive appliances.
See if you can find one at a travel outfitter, or normal electronics/appliance retailers.
