P.S:

Let me research those items and see how they work, and if this answer isn't worth crap try looking on the back of the bottles, it usually says the directions there, but in case they aren't there, here i go. okay well, these both look like they do the exact same thing and if you don't want greasy hair i would suggest using only one until it runs out than start using the other one. and i'm no pro but i suggest blow drying your hair until it's damp but not soaking wet because if you apply it while your hair is wet it will drip it all out. okay, so once you have blow dried your hair until it's still wet but not dripping (or just towel dry it) put about the size of a dime at most of only ONE of those two onto your hand than rub your hands together and style it. and if you don't want to just leave it wet you can blow dry it but make sure it won't ruin your hair. i hope that helped :)Professional Hair Styler, need styling tips.?
I have never heard of workable wak. Do you mean wax? I would sure hope so. Sorry, I'm being really literal right now.

Anyways...

1. There is a difference, but they can both be used to achieve the hair style.

2. I say towel dry it first, so it helps create that look. Ruffle the stuff around in your hair with however you feel comfortable. I'd say using the palms would be harder, so the tips would be easier.

This was kind of vague, so sorry if it's not a lot of help. I have a hard time explaining stuff with hair unless it's a girls.
