I live in Las Vegas, but am planning on moving to New York in my future. Soon I'll be going to school for cosmetology. But I want to be sure that doing hair is what I want to do. How much would a hair stylist make a year in big tipping towns? Would this be enough to support myself? If you could give any websites with salary information, that would be great. In NYC you have great potential to make a lot of money as a hair stylist, but it's extremely competitive. Try to get a job at a more upscale salon, or work your way up. Advertise yourself on craigslist and keep a clientele. If you go to beauty school in NYC the best one is Aveda institute because when you graduate you can get a job at Aveda, which is a great place to start. idk but a single mother (relative) van suppourt her family of 3 and shes doin well so i guess youd be able to suppourt urself if ur n e good wich u probably r .......... this probably doesnt help srry
