yeh this has happened to me before i uset to rap the lead around the straightners which used to bent the wires up inside and cuase them to be really loose that is why you are hearing a noise. you can fix them but it depends on how bad the noise is but otherwise you might have to get a new pair
Send the back its a manufactures fault cause by the fact they heat up to the high temperature, if you have the box etc and write a letter explaining what has happened GHD should replace them for your
my friends straighteners do the same thing not GHD's but similar, but GHD's have a good repair service so if u send em bk they shud fix em for ya.

if u get in touch with GHD and they shud be able to advise u

its not worth the risk of tryin to sort it out ur self.
this is a very common problem with the older GDH straighteners

In fact everyone I know who's had the old pair have had them blow up

Mine blew up in my hand! luckily it wasn't as dramatic as it sounds

Unfortunately unless they are still under warranty theres nothing you can
yes mine done the same thing. See if you go on to GHD's website and email them will the straightners code number and explain that you need a new wire for them, i paid 拢20.00 for a new wire and they are working great x
You mustn't use them they could electrocute you, maybe they objected to being used by someone else!.
How new are they? take them back to shop. If not get your self some new ones don't want to be electrifying yourself or burning your hair!
