Chemical hair straightners.. do?

Im thinking about getting chemical straightning done. Im a little bit worried now, becuase ive heared that they sometimes dont work all the way(sometimes they might leave waves, kinks, flips, ect.), and you cant use a regular ceramic hair straightner to take them out once you have the chemical process done. IS this true.Chemical hair straightners.. do?
I had the Japanese magic straightening perm done almost a year ago. IMO there are both pluses and minuses to the process. Minus: takes a very long time in the salon, is damaging to hair, leaches color out of color treated hair and you really can't get that color back for a while, can look a little odd when growing out, have to be careful not to put hair in any kind of clip or even tuck it behind your ear because that can lead to a dent or bend that you don't want, and hair tends to snarl more. Plus: can get that straight look with little or no effort, less time consuming to style straight on a daily basis, costs less than having salon flat iron hair every time you go there (at least my salon). If you do it, remember that you have to take extra good care of your hair. Use really good products and don't wash it so often. As for me, I won't do it again.Chemical hair straightners.. do?
Don't! They can leave your hair dry and icky. Get a Chi and blowdry it with Lanza's Strait line and then flat iron it and you will have silky straight hair without all the heavy oil. Works on all types of hair
my friend just had that done

and it works so good

all she has to do is blow dry it

and its pin straight
A chemical straightner just relaxes the hair. Its not going to be bone straight. For it to be bone straight you are going to have to use heat.
Chemical straightening systems can HELP relax an overly curly head of hair but even still..a straightening iron may still need to be used..thus putting the hair in risk of even MORE damage. I would advise NOT to do it..rather invest in an AWESOME flat iron ( Chi by Farouk is awesome) and a good system for hair smoothing and heat protect. I recomment Redken's smooth down treatment. they also have a ';heat glide'; for safe flat ironing. This way you are saving probably hundreds of dollars, not compromising the integrity of the hair, and getting nicer, healthier, shinier results. GOOD LUCK!!
I got it done, and really, it depends on the type of curly hair. My hair was a really stubborn curl... it got most of the curl out, but left it kinda wavy... so I have to go and get it down to help get rid of the rest of the wave. I use a flat iron to get it stick straight. So if u have really tight curls, yes u will need it.
