i honestly dont think theres a difference
but if there was, id think a hair straightener sounds safer lol
but if youre looking for a good one, get the 2 inch chi. they sell them at ulta, theyre pretty expenseive though, but i promise its worth it! =]
The only difference is one might be a ceramic (better) and the other one is not.
thier the same thing people just choose to say it a little different--unless your talking about a hot comb and a flat iron
