Hair cut etiquette Hair Stylers Please Help!!?

Ok so I got my ear pierced way up at the top of the ear and it caused me to get a HUGE lump of scar tissue. It grosses people out and it bothers me too....I dont wear my hair up in public since its so huge but I need a hair cut. My aunt cuts hair but lives 3 hours away so I wont see her for awhile. Is it okay for me to see a hair dresser? I dont want to have her get grossed out and stuff I dont want to make her job harder. And if I do go do I tell her about it? Or just let her see it and freak out?! I am going to tip well even if its a bad hair cut just for dealing with this. Please help any advice?Hair cut etiquette Hair Stylers Please Help!!?

You are not going to gross anyone out, it will be a topic to talk about if anything you know how awkard it can be sitting with a stranger for an hour or so. I also think you should visit your gp i'm sure it would only be a minor procedure to sort it out.

Ok, first you have to be patient and let your hair grow.


Then learn to blow-dry your hair straight, his hair has a slight wave to it and if you use straighteners it will be too straight.


Use shampoos and conditioners that will soften your hair, and use very light products for styling, wax or putty, not gel.
keep dreaming, you'll never have hair like Zac Efron. Sorry, but that's the truth.
buy a good hair straightener it will help make it less spikey..


try new hair products like shampoo or conditioner

If you twist your hair in foil and then use the straightener - you get curls - you can do arb shapes %26amp; stuff, flick outs, use it to style each layer (in or out) - the possibilities are endless with a little imagination!!

who ever has put you off the idea of GHD's is silly (no offence lol) GHD's are the best! ive had mine since october and i ask myself ';why didnt i get these sooner?!'; before, i use to spend all my money on different straighteners, and most of them never worked. so i said to myself ';just get GHD's'; and i did ... and OH MY GOD they are fab! they transform my curly hair into dead straight hair!





and if you wanted to dee how good they were, borrow them from your friends (if they have them) or get your hair done in the hairdresser!

ghd are good dunno who told you they werent the best coz they are one of the best straightners out.

Hi! There are many straightners which are quite good. Somebody said fudge ones which are quite good. But overall i think GHD'S are the best. They do heat up really fast, they go to really high temperatures and they have different ones for different kind of hair! They even have it for guys! I have got them and i think they are FAB.They actually do straighten the hair, but just a little tip. if you do get them dont str8ten your hair slick str8 because sometimes it doesn't look good. But also use ghd hair products on your hair, because it is very hot it gives you lots of split ends if you use it regulary. They are about 10 pounds each and can get it from superdrugs, asda, body care and loads more!

you NEVER want to put direct heat on wet hair! (unless you are blow drying) when the hair is wet is when its at its weakest. you want to kill and fry your hair? and i think the best ones are by chi....and ';hardcore'; by tigi. they are a little expensive but they help seal the cuticle. they don't damage hair as much as the cheap ones. whatever onen you choose, make sure its ceramic. don't use metal on your hair, its cheap and damaging.

The only way I've found to achieve the same is to use expensive product, a cheaper version would be frizz-ease. Also, get a tool that connects to the end of your blow dryer that funnels the air in a straight line versus a circle.How do hair stylers blow dry my hair?

I know this doesn't answer your question but its a difficult question to answer because of the ranges in possibility.





Some stylists are freelance, some work by the hour (minimum wage) at like Hair cuttery, some work in spas/salons making a commission but if they don't have work, they make zero - they don't get paid by the hour at all, so they have to keep their bookings high and build a clientele.





The possibilities are endless....there will be ALOT of people that do not do well in the industry, there will be many that do well, some that do very well and a few that will do exceptionally well.Hair Styler?

I have not been to an dominican hair salon but have heard the same thing about the heat. I would suggest you try the egyptians. I have been to them a few times and they can get the straight, but the length of time it last depends on the type of hair you have and the styles you keep it in. I like to wear my hair in various fro styles, so it only stays straight for about a week. But I don't get it straighten very often. Good luck!

Dominican's do a great job...i recently started going over a month ago, and no compliants here. They educate you and give u helpful hints on how to maintain your hair. They teach you that u don't need alot of product on your hair, it just weights it down. Ask a stylist questions! Enjoy!

The Black girls at work said that no one gets nappy hair straight like Dominicans. They said they are skilled at using the straightening comb as oppossed to a flat-iron. I thought this was odd. I would be worried about breakage though. One of the Black girls at work said they get the comb way too hot. She doesn't have much hair left at the back of her head. She said it was burned out. Hope this helps.
I am not Dominican nor am I African American. However, I have come to realize that Dominicans are very skilled when it comes to styling hair... no matter what type you have. My hair is not kinky but it is naturally wavy so not many hair stylist know how to work with it. Dominicans have never had a problem straightening it. I was ALWAYS a satisfied customer with the results. Good luck! :)





P.S. I have seen many African Americans at the Dominican places I've been to in the past. I can assure you that they'll do a great job for you too!
I think it depends on how strong your hair is..they can straighten hair without chemicals and it looks great..but it *is* a lot of heat. I know some people that just get the roots done. Also make sure they use a heat protector spray or bring your own. I go to the Dominican Salon once in a while and don't get chemicals from them..
I think Dominican Salons use too much heat. I think you should only go to them on special occasions. I am African-American and has seem plenty of my friends hair suffer from breakage due to extreme heat styling. I would shy away plus they do not do hair care at all and use poor products.

Has anyone heard of hair straighteners called ';Hair Styler'; they are a European brand...?

I live in Australia and was stopped by a lovely Italian who assured me they are 'all the go in Europe'; They work by heating your hairs inner oils, which in turn moisurizes your hair and 'repairs' it as you straighten. Your hair replaces the 'lost' oils naturally, from the inside out, so... no damage. She wanted $250 (about 120 pounds) so I told her to get on her bike, but they did sound good! I have tried 'google' by nothing comes up except for some computer hair styling program.

never heard of the brand. There are alot of fake hairstylers out at the moment. It was a big problem over here (europe) over christmas. People buying apparantly expensive reputable brands or fakes and realising when they break after 3mths, there is no warranty for them. So just don't. There are plenty of replenishing hair straighteners now. Buy from a store and buy a good brand. When you're paying that much you want to know you're covered by a warranty and buying the genuine thing.

Ask for a ';fashion mullet';.


If your hair styler still doesn't understand tell her ,thin razored layers on the top ending from the cheek bone area and keeping the rest the same length. Or you could simply show her a picture if she STILL doesn't get what you're talking about.


The thing is, if you don't have thin layers on top it'll make it seem like you do have extensions.


Oh and speaking about extensions, IF you do get some make sure there not too long, trust me it'll look fake. Especially since the length is about where your belly button is.

print out the picture and ask your hair stylist all of those questions. she knows what will work good with your type of hair.

Its easy to do.


Just tease it. and layer it.


But if u must go to a styler, print the picture out and show it to the styler, and she will do it just like that.
Best thing to do is print that picture out, show the hair stylist and if you really want extenstions, go to a beauty supply store %26amp; get extenstions to match your color. Extenstions can be expensive though :o

Wigs are fine, just go to your nearest beauty supply store to try some on. You could also get weave, micros, individuals, kinky twists, etc.Will a wig or hair styler be good for a black woman like me?
Try using those hair straightners with the porcelain plates. Your hair won't stay straight in the rain or damp weather though.





Other than that, stay natural and accept your hair as it is.
